COBS 2016 Highlight

Congrats to all the Queen City Cornhole players that participated in the ACL COBS 2016 Cornhole Championshps. Over $50,000 was given out to players that participated from all over the country. Roger Wright and Derek Holland went deep into the $12,500 ACL COBS 2016 Doubles Championship at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort. The duo ended up finishing fourth and taking home $800 for their efforts.

The North Carolina State Doubles Champions, Casey Frye and Kevin Lemons finished tied for 13th along with two other Charlotte area teams: Cory Shook / Shane Andrews and Eric Ryder / Danny Blanks. Two other teams with area players finished in the Top 32 for Doubles: Jason Scwab / Matt West and Chris Byers / Meng Mor. In the $25K ACL COBS 2016 Singles Championship, Derek Holland finished 4th and Danny Blanks made an amazing run through the losers bracket to finish tied for 7th. Cory Shook and Chris Byers secured Top 32 finishes. The top area Crew Cup team goes to the 4th place finishers,  Gashouse (Holland, Wright, Ryder, Blanks).

COBS 2016 – 2017 Season

Queen City Cornhole will be hosting COBS Regional Tournaments at Sugar Creek Brewery starting in August. Each Regional Event will feature two divisions, Open and Social. Players will compete for cash and points against players of their own skill level. Participation and points allows players to participate in the COBS 2017 Main Event. Stay tuned for more details.
